I currently work with children on the autism spectrum and often tutor them in daily activities including class subjects. I also advocate on their behalf in reference to needing modified tests and an environment that enhances their ability to succeed. Since high school, I have been known to teach others course information that they are not quite understanding the first time around by breaking the information down into easy steps to remember. Relevant classes that I have taken that are relevant to tutoring others include:(1) Learning Principles; (2) College Students with Special Needs; (3) The College Student Athlete and (4) Interpersonal Relations for Academic Advising. Although all of these classes are focused on a post-secondary environment, the information is still valuable towards all individuals.
