I relocated from China to the United States in 2012. I graduated with a Master of Science from the University of South Florida, where I majored in Finance. When I was in college back in China, I tutored one student for two years, starting from when he was in the fourth grade. After two months of tutoring his grades improved so much that he became one of the 10 best students in his class. After moving to America, I taught Mandarin to my friend's kids and really enjoyed working with them. Teaching Mandarin Chinese is something I love to do because my students have a lot of fun learning my native language. I have found that I am able to be very patient and effective at teaching Chinese to American born students. Learning a language is very complicated, so I use different techniques and lessons plans on different students. I am a patient tutor who does not depend on using the textbook to teach language skills. When I am not teaching, I like to spend time singing, running, reading, or watching films.
